Smoothie Bowls

Image
These seem to be all the rage right now at juice bars but most times they are not detox friendly. I mean you can modify them and have them at the bar however it would be awesome to make them at home. So I have created this very long post to help you understand how to make your own and also some recipes you can start with. To start you should always pick a delicious base. This part is the liquid in your smoothie. My favorite pic is usually coconut water or 100% juice. It provides flavor and helps with the fruit combination. For example if you want to make an Orange Peach and Berry bowl, then you can have your orange in juice and in the presentation or just the juice.  Your next step is to choose how you wanna thicken your smoothie and I personally use normally a banana and some frozen fruit to give the bowl a smooth and thick consistency. I rarely use the avocado but if I am feeling adventurous I will place at least 1/2 an avocado instead of the banana. It gives it this ...

Thanksgiving Menu Part I

Image
Hey guys I would like to apologize for all the CAPS I am using on this post I just want to make sure you read  those items before you make anything. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Thanksgiving detox recipes, but since there are many courses I have to split the post into 3 if not you guys will go kinda crazy. So this post will include 2 appetizers, the next post will include what to eat for a  Main dish and to follow that my favorite course DESSERT. The reason for this post is simple, I want you to be successful on your healing journey and Thanksgiving should be about celebrating and not worrying about what everyone else is gonna have that I can't. These items I am sharing are both good for your detox and your non detox peeps. (Some of your non detox peeps will ask for salt so just.... HIDE IT!! 😃 LOL just kidding, give it a touch of salt after you serve yourself). Appetizers To get things started usually we do cheese and crackers, soups or salads.... So...

Blueberry fudge

Image
Blueberries are an incredible ingredient it has amazing properties. This little fruit softens dry skin, boosts your brain, helps UTI's and it may even prevent cancer. The best part about this recipe is the combination and burst of flavor you get form just this tiny little "dessert" or "snack". I put quotation marks because I eat it anytime I want... Don't tell my husband...😉 So now to the interesting ingredient: Creamed coconut, no not coconut cream! Creamed coconut  is the unsweetened dehydrated fresh meat of a mature coconut, ground to a semi-solid white creamy paste, yes only that there is no other element to this mysterious ingredient. It is quite helpful to achieve consistencies of fudge and creamy pie. I am over the moon with it I absolutely love it! But it can be a little bit grainy if you don't melt it and mix it properly. These two would be fine by them selves but there is nothing like the combination of raw honey and lemon. T...

Slow cooker (DETOX) Baked apples with dried fruit topping

Image
Hey guys!! Apples...I know... I am obsessed with apples but this particular recipe is very exciting as it is made in the slow cooker!!!! Making it in the slow cooker is so convenient. Knowing that no matter what you will be able to have "baked" apples and not having to baby sit them its the best feeling in the world. I love my slow cooker and I just gotta say it makes detox or alkaline diet a little bit easier to handle. You can make things like "baked" sweet potatoes, "roasted" root vegetables and delicious desserts. The best part is that it can be done over a couple of hours or better yet while you sleep!!   Many people have asked me lately if it matters what brand of slow cooker you buy, the answer is NO. Just make sure you read the instructions for wash and use before turning it on. Some will require less time of cooking because of the brand. I have a "crock pot" and a "Hamilton beach" they work marvelously BOTH of them.  ...

Applesauce... RAW???

Image
Hey guys I'm sorry to have been out of touch. I was spending some time with family and they took up most of my day. Happily spent time but no time to blog. Now I have started playing in my kitchen and I found a recipe that is just delicious. Normally applesauce is this sweet delicious thing that has a lot of texture and in my case cinnamon. As of late I've taken to my heart to read labels before buying anything and the label for applesauce is not so bad but wouldn't it be better if  it had none?? I found this recipe to be so delicious and most importantly EASY! I definitely do not have time to play around in the kitchen (as much as I love to) so recipes need to be fast and easy. The ingredients for this recipe are simple and delicious. Apples (I used gala but any apple will do the trick) + Dates and a little water can do the trick. I really enjoy this with dried fruit or as a sauce for a fruit salad (YUM!). Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. This could coun...
